I just have to say how much I love this album. I don't know exactly why this happens, but it has some kind of a familiar feel for me. There is an attachment to the sound for some reason.

You see, I'm from the Bronx N.Y. and my family comes from Harlem. They moved to the Bronx just before I was born but I spent a lot of time down there because most of my family lived still lived in harlem including my grandmother. But that has nothing to do with the album.

Later in life I ended up spending a lot of time on the street. Some of that time was spent around 125th street. Not far from the Apollo but far enough in the direction of the shady area. More towards Lex. I won't get into my street days but lets just call it "the blues."
I spent a lot of time in the subway system also. In those times on the street as well as the subway there were always street performers of all kinds. I loved them.
For some reason this album conjures up all of that and somehow leaves out the bad times. It's the smells and sounds of the city. I no longer live there but I'm not gone....I am the city. It lives and breaths in me. It courses through my veins. I lived and died on the streets and that music is in my soul. It's not so much the songs and lyrics but it's the sound...the ever present street performer/busking sound of Satan and Adams' music. It's there, I can feel it. This post may seem weird but you would have to be there to understand. I feel the music on that album.

Ok, I'm done weirding out now....back on course. lol
