Dave's website has been commented on a number of times on the MBH forum, all positively as far as I can recall. Bluesharmonica.com is, quite simply, the best learning resource for the post war Chicago style and tongue blocking technique, short of private lessons from an experienced teacher in person. There's an absolute ton of material on the site- video lessons, interviews with many top level pro harp players, advice on amps, harp maintainence, mics, etc. Not to mention access to advice from a range of experts in all things harmonica related and the facility to ask Dave, other students or any of the many site contributers, any question you may have relating to your study of the instrument. The subscription is worth every penny and if you are not happy with the site you can cancel anytime you wish. Highly, highly recommended- it's an outstanding learning aid.

buy a hohner harp and try it for free for 3 weeks and make your own mind up.
details from Hohner
I did, my 3 week trial is up and after I get back from my hols I'll be signing up for more. The trial works wherever you are in the world, you just need a genuine Hohner barcode.

If you want to learn traditional Blues playing, it's a great resource for the interviews alone. The lessons are top notch. They teach you not only how to play, but they teach you how to compose solids and how to analyze the styles of the great players.

I am nearing the end of my free 3 week trial. It is a fantastic site! If I can figure out how to subscribe without pissing of the wife, I will certainly sign up. Well with the money.

Barret's stuff is great as far as it goes BUT it only deals with blues and then only in first, second and third positions. Within those fairly severe limitations his stuff is excellent.
