Earlier today, Red Arrow pilot Fl Lt Jon Egging was killed after performing at the bournemouth air festival. His plane crashed into the River Stour.
I run my family's marina on the Stour a couple of miles down river from the crash site.
The Bournemouth Air Show brings hundereds of thousands of people to the area. This morning, I was talking to one of my customers who has a mooring in my marnia:
'Must be a pain in the arse for you' He said, 'all these tourists coming here in one go?'
'Yep' I replied, 'But when I look up into the sky and see the Red Arrows perform, I never feel more proud of being British. Can't deny that feeling to anyone.'
