You know, for some reason, Taj Mahal's music has never spoken to me in a way I can relate to. Not sure why that is.

@hvyj...can't disagree more. I really love his music. But one man's poison...

Leavin' Trunk is one of my favorites, along w/She Caught The Katy, his version of Checkin' Up on my Baby, Celebrated Walkin' Blues...

He toured a little while back with Bonnie Raitt but I didn't get a chance to catch them. Saw them play She Caught The Katy on Jey Leno one night.

This was the song that first made me want to learn how to play the harp...
Taj is one of my favorite musicians: great voice, great skills on just about any instrument you can name, and he does it all without "showing off"... none of the overdone, self-indulgent soloing that initially turned me off to a lot of contemporary blues music.

It's all about the groove!

I saw him five or six years back and I've never had more fun at a show.

Thanks for the video, atty

Taj and his family took my fiancee in when she was young and homeless. She befriended one of his daughters. He taught her how to roll her first joint, lol. One handed, on his thigh, lol.
