Just added another custom harmonica to my set. Harvey Berman (harveryharp.com) refurbished a 1997 Golden Melody in the key of B for me. Nice harp with a clear acrylic comb.
I met Harvey at Hill Country. He is a super nice guy. Very helpful, friendly, and easy to do business with. His promise dates are on the money.
I'm sure I'll be smoother on this harp as I grow accustomed to it (I'm used to leaky harps), but I want to post a video showing how well the overbends play.
A couple of new players have asked me how to know when they hear an overbend. I don't know how to explain it so I put the bubble up on some of the longer overbends.
Hey Duane, I just got mine to. I got the clear Blue acrylic comb. Just as you stated very smooth and playable. I giged with it Thursday and it played great. I had him tune it to Just innotation. Now I have one in the key of E thats tuned Equal and one Just tuned for diffrent styles of music. He didn't set mine up for O/B's but I can still get a couple to sound without much thought. Harvey is on the list if I need some thing else.
I apologize for the hat and sunglasses. I know there are those of you that look upon this as uncool....and you should know.
But hey.... I had a rough night of wine and women, the black eye had not healed from the incident where me, my brother, and my other brother tried to jump the paperboy, and I know I shouldn't have trusted my 6 year old grandaughter for a cheap haircut. What else was I to do?
The sleeveless beer shirt really says who I am. Hmmm...wonder how it affects my playing?
I'm sorry if I embarrased anyone. Just glad I didn't embarass myself.
I wish a real harp player would do a demo for good ole Harv......my playing just does not do this fine instrument justice!
I'm Bzzzzin outta here..for a couple hours anyway.
