Hi all , It7s been such a long time since i posted on the forum due to loads of good stuff happening with bands and music in general , and recently i've got to play harp more , but not in my main band ,asi'm usually always on guitar , so i get down to my local jam night where our drummer runs( he is also a guitarist and singer etc) so it gives me a good oportunity to play harp .
if i take an amp i use the green bullet , or shaker , and PA i'll just use the shaker .anyway i'm digressing a bit .

I saw some adverts for the tailfeather range of harp mics and wondered if any of you have them or tried them , and just a general opinion of them , price wise , they seem ok so any feedback would be cool , I7ve giot a run of gigs coming up so i might buy another mic to treat myself , or even a small amp hat's easier to take to the pub than the vibrolux i usually play through

hope you are all cool and enjoying those Gob irons!

the tornado models look like the old nady mics.
i bought one for @$50 3 or 4 years ago. it is a pretty versatile mic being good for singing and harp.
i aint sure what the exchange rate is or the cost of things in the uk so i cant tell you if it is a bargain.
it is a large mic, though.

Ive heard they are a very clean sounding mic, ideal for vocals, ive heard mixed feeling about using them for harp. If you like a clean sounding harp i recon its probably worth checking out.

Dave Barrett has modified one to hold a light bulb so when students cup it, it would show all the light escaping through to demonsrate how not to cup a mic.

i had a look at the uk site , it seem they go for about 120-80 which is roughly similar to shure 520dx or hohner blues blaster ( astatic copy)
I already have a nice 520 d from the early 70's ( controlled magnetic element ) it has alittle less volume than the shaker and less feedback , i see the shaker over here has gone up in price to about £75 a great little mic that i have in my harp case .
soundwise i like a nice hot sound with plenty of depth , although i do play clean as well , by merely holding the mic away from the harp while still cupped or just not blowing/ sucking hard , the vibrolux or the super reverb are very touch sensitive and great for dynamics in playing
. i'll keep my options open and thanks for the advice so far
