Yeah ! I think this is great too. To my ear his style is in places similar to Lee Oskar's. The latin feel of the groove adds to that perception, I'm sure. Tex recorded and toured with a later incarnation of War around the mid '90s. ---------- KiwiRick

I'm still trying to get passed the name...lol. Tex Nakamura? Wow, what a blend of cultures!! And then to top it off there is a Latin edge. So let's see. We have Texas (country) and Japanese as well as Latin. I could swear I heard a few licks in there that could be used in a blues context also.

I conversed with him back in the mid 90s at a jam session at a blues bar called the Classroom (now gone) in the San Fernando Valley here in L.A. Really a nice guy and super enthusiastic. I remember being really impressed with his playing. It wasn't until later that someone told me he was playing with War... ---------- myspace
