If you don't want to watch the whole thing I implore you to scroll over to 2:45 and watch his solo.

Wow I was watching the clip just last night. then someone in my other thread has recommended I listen to more Sonny Terry.

Sonny Terry everywhere I turn..

Synchronicities need to be paid attention to!

I'm in good company. Just realised Sonny holds the harp with his right hand, but upside down. I can't do that though.

Seen that video a few times. Would love to get the whole gig on dvd. Listening to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee is what first got me hooked on playing harmonica.

that was great-that was the first time I ever heard sonny go into the upper register-he always seemed to play the lower notes-seems I read where he played lip pursed

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a Golden Melody Sonny is playing.

Love my GMs but don't really connect it with this style playing.

His chords sound fine to me.

Yeah sure is a Golden Melody. Sonny used them a lot (maybe even exclusively) in his later years.
