I know we have a fair amount of motorheads on here so here's the most recent thing I've built. Just finished it up and this guy in the hood stopped by to tell me his boss had one out on his farm and was sending it to auction. I bought it as soon as we saw it so it's next. It's really rough so I'll have to gather parts for a while before I get going full force. Anyway,
Is that a Meyers Manx? I thought they were so cool when they came out - I was probably 12 years old. I built a model of one and painted it purple metal flake. Congratulations - from a gearhead.
Sounds pretty healthy. Tell us more about the engine..... (I know it is a VW - but.... displacement? Cams? Carbs? ---------- /Greg
It's not a Manx but I found one last week in Okeechobee county. I guy in the hood told me about it. I bought it. It's rough but it's real. I put it in the registry. And, it was originally purple flake. I'm going to paint it silver flake like Deedie's roll bar then a lot of hotrod black trim. I'll start on it when this heat breaks. I'm not sure what's in Deedie's Dual port engine above. Her parents gave us the car that they'd owned for years. The engine was strong so I didn't do much to it. I stripped the car down to the pan and did about everything but the engine. Greg I made the dash out of a sheet of aluminium. I cut it with a jigsaw and sanded for hours. If I send you a cardboard template or a draft can you set up your c&c to cut it out? This next dash will be probably 7 inches high and 15 inches across. I am ignorant on the set up of the mill so I don't know if it is equitable to pay you to set up for one cut. Thank you all for the compliments.
