Just the last few months, in the area I live, we have had a flood, a tornado, a drought and now a record-breaking heat wave where the temperature has been in the triple digits for over a month and today it was 115 degrees and this is Arkansas not Death Valley though it feels like it. This is the South and it always gets hot and humid in the summer but I've never seen it like this. Of course, its not just my area but all over the South and most parts of the Midwest and even the Northeastern parts of the U.S. are sweltering. I heard it was 108 in New Jersey and over 100 in Minnesota of all places. So all the radio pundits who say there's no such thing as global warming are full of s**t. Now that I got that off my chest, I'll get off my soapbox and go back to talking things harmonica here.

I don't believe in the global warming thing but if it IS true,,,one thing they do say is there will be weird weather and it will start to get cooler and seasons will screw up before it really kicks in. All the ice melting and going into the oceans and rivers would cool things off a bit. Then they would rise in temperature just like any cold water you leave in a glass for a bit.

We're in the depths of winter in Oz and I'm a couple of thousand feet up in the mountains. And its 21C today!! That's 70F! Its NEVER been this warm at this time of year before - not since they started keeping temperature data anyway.
And we had the coldest morning for 17 years last Fri -8C (18F). One extreme to the other! Maka

Dan i'm just outside little rock here. 114 yesterday. overnight low of 86. our weather has been similar this year, actual snow during january, floods in early may, no rain for about a month now and then it was very little, and now record high temps. call it what you want, things are changing.
this is hot- i was fishing last evening, hooked a nice fish from the feel of it. the water was warm, i mean WARM. by the time i got it in it was poached. i grabbed it with a flour tortilla and viola! supper. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

believe global warming or not,but fossil fuels have irreversibly polluted the atmosphere and its just common sense that it holds the heat in

This same weather pattern happened in 1936 and will happen again in the future sometime. ---------- Wisdom does not always come with old age. Sometimes old age arrives alone.
