I'm going to be passing through Knoxville TN (Wed night 7/27) and Harrisburg/Carlisle (Thurs night 7/28) and am looking maybe to visit a blues jam.

I found the following list of Knoxville jams:

Voodoo Bone featuring Chico Crawford hosts the Blues Jam at Paul's Oasis out west. Free. 9 pm.

Labron Lazenby & LA3 hosts the Blues Jam at Coyote Joe's on Clinton Hiway. 9 pm.

Robert Higginbotham & Smokin' Section host the Blues Jam at Brackins Blues Club in Maryville. Free. 9 pm.

Can anybody suggest which of these might provide the best music? Also, I'm open to suggestions re: Thursday jams/bands in Harrisburg.

I'll have all my equipment with me and am, of course, open to last-second gig offers. :)

Yes, I'm playing a 40-minute set at the Liquid 891 jam in Harrisburg on Thursday night. Around 9 PM, they tell me. Kick and stomp!

Adam, I am familiar with Brackins. It's in Maryville, which is only a small piece out of town going toward the Smoky Mtns.). Small venue, heavy blues. I've seen Mark Hummel and others there. They have a website.

That date shows as "Blues Jam" night. I'm sure they would trade that for a top notch show.
