I have two Manjis, Bb and Eb. No matter how much gapping I do, they never seem to play smoothly. I can get the bends but not as smoothly and easily as I can on my other harps like my crossovers. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and how they remedied it.

PS: sorry for the typeo on the thread name. Posted from my phone.

I love my manjis; great tone, volume and finish. I have a D that seems a little stiff, but I have a tendency to play too hard; I find if I back off a little bit it seems to choke less.

I am very dissapointed with my C manji.
When I opened the box I was in love with her, What a cutie?
But then our love story finished. The harmonica was severely leaky.
If I could halve the manji and put its 6 to 10 holes to another harmonica I like, I would be happy.
Is so easy to tongue block the upper holes of the manji, but the lover holes (of my manji I have to say) are a hell.

I have two Manjis (A and C) and found them both a bit stiff on holes 1-6 out of the box. With gapping, which I'd do anyway, I can get all the holes EXCEPT 3d to where I want them. The 3d remains stiff. :-(

I just ordered a Seydel Session Steel. We'll see.

The 3 draw is my problem too. The 2 draw took a good amount of trial and error but I finally got it. But the 3 never seems to get where I want it. I've tried hitting it hard and soft and its still difficult. I was thinking of ordering a Seydel so let me know how it goes. I think I'm gonna finish my set of crossovers first though.

Yes, I tried 2 of them. Both Bb.

I heard so many good things about them from different players that when I didn't like the first one that I got I thought it must be a bad one so I turned around and sent for the other Bb which turned out to be set up exactly the same way.

Both harps are beautiful for me in every respect except for the 3 draw bend characteristics. You have to wrestle the 3 draw bends into correct intonation.

I sent one to a customizer to see what he could do and he made some definite improvements but it still plays a little crudely in the 3 bends for both him and me. The Hohners that he built will play just beautifully in the 3 draw.
