I went to an outdoor BBQ and Blues gig yesterday to see my old Buddy Azza who has moved away.
I thought I would post this for you guys to comment on.
Its an origional song penned by Azza and I got invited to sit in.
I did not think it would work with 2 Harps but to my suprise I think it all fits really well and got some great feedback from the crowd after the gig.
I am playing in 3rd position (G) and Azza is playing 2nd accoustic (D.
I let Azza borrow my rig for the gig and I am really pleased with how my sound has turned out. I have never played outside before with a reverb pedal but I am greatful that someone captured the song and put it on FB.
The quality is not brilliant but thats just me but you get the idea.
Comments welcome

It sounds to me like the singer was freezing you out on this tune Russ. He seemed more interested in hearing the guitarist and his own harp than in letting the audience hear you. Which is a real shame. From what little I could hear you were playing some nice complimentary stuff to the song. I would have liked to have heard more of your playing.
I have known Azza for a few years and we have grown together as Harp players kind of the same pace. Azza is a lip purser and I am TB so we sound different.
The thing I found the hardest was not being too loud on the band stand and wanted to sit behind the vocals and I think I did that. I also just wanted to flow with the song and let it happen kind of thing.
Phil Is a great guitar player and can get pretty loud at times but he understands the dynamics really well for me anyway.
To be fair to Azza I said before the song that I would not solo and just play with the feel of the song as I love minor songs.
There are no egos in the band and I think thay really have something going for them.
I did some more songs on the day and really let myself go but this is just a really great song and it moves me, relaxes me and I enjoyed it for what it was.
Thanks for the comments Paul.
BTW I still have the C harp you tuned for me and it still is my go to C harp.
How did you raise the cover on the lower end and what did you tune it to as it still sounds really sweet?
Cheers

Ah I see. That would explain a lot Russ. Thanks for the further explanation.
I'm glad that C harp is still working well for you. I seem to recall that I tuned it to the tuning Steve Baker recommends tuning in his Harp Handbook. The covers were simply reshaped by hand against a piece of wood, until I was happy that they felt and looked right.
