@jordanchudan: Now THAT's good harp playing! Perfect tone, solid precise licks, and furthermore you established a MOOD on both songs. (an indication of a real player). I have an idea that it's not just your mic here that is doing the work...it's coming from inside you. That having been said, I must admit it is a pretty microphone and sure reproduces the sound well. It's a shame that some of those hotshot pups out there don't LISTEN and absorb what you're putting down. Very well done! Regards, Joe Lee

I'm with you on this one Joe, - Tasty and Sweet from Mr. jodanchudan
Now tell us about your rig jodan- what amp/ what fx ? Nice bluesy tone without overdoing the grit. The detail and subtlety come through. Me like. ----------
@jbone: I know it's a Shure CM element, but I'm not really a gearhead so the significance of that is a bit lost on me - it just sounds cool, that's all. rharley5652 can tell you more about the techno side of things.
@jim: you said the modded 520DX sounds different from a standard one. What's the difference?
@Bonedog: I'm playing through an Epi Valve Junior and added reverb in Audacity. It's recorded on a pretty rubbish mic (hence the constant hiss!) plugged into the laptop.
Well if it has a CM element and looks like the one in the picture in your video, it really has nothing to do with a 520DX! I'm sure Rharley can clear it all up.
Here's a vid that Ron did when he was building my silver bullet. mine as a low z cm mexican made shure 99C86 DJ element with his super boost mod. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifv_F5tdrzc ---------- Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. Isaac Asimov

Sounding good, Jodan. Greg's right, and I think Jim has his wires crossed-that's a Harley-style taillight housing, and yes, it couldn't be further from a 520dx.
@ Blues13,.. here is you Video,.. Great to hear "your Silver Bullet will follow you in the grave." Sure Hope its not for another 50 yrs >< LOL
@ Jim,..No,. Your Rharley Original Silver Bullet is Built with the 520DX Dynamic Nock Off Element w/ Super Boost,. Jim has a 520 DX that is the feedback King !! I built him a Silver Bullet using the 520 DX element & now ,.well we'll let him tell ya ?//
@jodanchudan,. Seems like that Epi Valve Junior is the go to amp for harp ,..as Jim & Ant138 Both blow through one,..and Both have Great Tone as you,.. No need for a high priced amp unless you play live ,.even then you could mic it to get over the guitar players !
Here are the specs of your Rharley Original Silver Bullet: Shure Hi Z 99B86 QF Q=1977 / F= June ,.. 10 detent Volume control & Switchcraft 5/8 Connctor,..
There is a lot more that goes into a Rharley Original Silver Bullet than Just stickin a element into a Harley taillight ,.one being,. I've developed my own neoprene gaskets for the Silver Bullet,.520's & JT-30's,.. Also a Lil' Voodoo - Mojo goes into each mic I build >< LOL
EDIT : @Jim // 520 Knock Off = knock off everything from the 520 DX element >, LOL
Oh no, they're a thing of beauty-a combination of all the right ingredients(sweet element, chrome housing that's the perfect size), and the gasket to make it fit up right. Makes me miss my dearly departed Ruskin. ---------- Todd L. Greene
RHarley makes his own gaskets specifically to fit his shells. This is the mark of a true PROFESSIONAL builder. I mold my own gaskets for my wood shells as well. Yet I have worked on mics built by so-called "pro" builders that are shoved full of pipe insulation, styrofoam, foam rubber, cotton balls, you name it.
Another clue - if you see electrical tape instead of shrink wrap, or wire bigger than 20 gauge, or cheap elements hot-melt glued off center onto plastic disks cut with a pair of scissors (I SWEAR I am not making this up) you might not be working with the right builder. Choose builders who take enough pride in their work to invest in the proper tools and components to do the job right! ---------- /Greg
@ Greg,. Thanks for the compliment ! Foam behind the element is not a bad thing & in some cases helps tone ,.I find >< But The Gasket is the most important part of the Build,.an element sitting in pipe insulation, styrofoam, foam rubber, cotton balls,..just is not going to produce the tone ,. You end up blowing 40% into the element an 60% into pipe insulation,. foam or worse ,. Also I have seen builds where the element sits in the shell at a 40 degree angle,.because thats the only way the could get it to fit,. I've also seen builds where they used electrical wire nuts to join the wires together,.I've also seen the hot melt glue used to hold wires in place,..WHY !!
I'm not saying any of this with malice,.just to let buyers know,.if the builder does not show you up close pics of his /her builds the old saying holds true Buyer Beware ><
Here is a few shots of my gasket with the grill in place,. showing how tight of a fit it is ,.I get the same fit on my 520' & Jt-30 / Bluesblasters ,.I've developed a different gasket for my Turner Bullets >,
