I recently got hold of a Pignose 7-100 and a Bottle o blues mic. I tried to play this song through it (and record it) but could only find backing tracks in the key of A for this song. Being a beginner I still only play 2nd position and only have 3 harps anyway (one of which is a D) so D it had to be. But it sounded too high pitched for my liking amped, so I did it again acoustically. It was my first time playing with a mic anyway so I'm still getting the hang of it.
Anyway, this is my second attempt at recording myself but this time I sing along with it. I'm not really a singer mind you. It's all done on my webcam. I find that recording myself really highlights the mistakes. I kept missing my turnarounds and hitting the 3 hole instead of 2....among other things.

Well I'm tryin'!! lol Step by step right? This week marks 2 months.

Yea eharp. I've been trying to get some more effects by hand lately but sometimes it depends on the song for me. I've been trying to work out effects with a purpose rather than just for the sake of effects if you know what I mean. I think trying to get used to a mic kind of killed my hand effects temporarily...lol

Thanks guys

Ok...I decided to post the version through the Pignose and Bottle O blues mic. It's my first time playing electric so be gentle!! I didn't like it and that is why I posted acoustic. I don't like the tone. Shrill! For some reason it seems I miss more notes and make more mistakes with the mic. All in good time I guess. Fun though.

@al "I'm sure i was struggling tae play single notes let alone note bends at two months"

Actually I already learned to play single notes and bend about 20 years ago but after learning those basics I never played again. I never knew about there being more than one bend on any notes and I knew pretty much nothing of theory, 12 bar blues etc. At the time however, I did (for some reason) understand the 12 bars "by sound" and could play along somewhat. Faking it...lol. But 2 months ago I went out and bought a new SP20 and it was my first playing after 20 years, and I really started learning. 20 years ago I did nothing but try to play along with records. Now I am learning something. This forum has been a great help.
