Somebody wrote to ask me about this song. It was one I jammed with for many hours as a raw beginner; I remembered it with fondness and when I went to YouTube and found it, I was surprised by how well it holds up:

Great groove! Among other things, it's an excellent example--the paradigmatic example--of how attacking the harp REALLY hard gives you some tonal effects that you just can't get when you play more lightly. By the same token, Bruce is completely in control, and at points he lightens the attack just enough to play softly AND deeply. So it's a great all-around lesson in how to create music with a harp. He uses a fairly limited palette of licks and creates a whole world of music with them. He never loses the groove. (And thanks to Ginger Baker for that.) This could work as a one-man band cut, I think. Hmmmm.

Please discuss.

The video isn't working.

I had no idea Bruce played harmonica.

Worked fine here, Miles.

Very cool old track. Jack Bruce is one of my favorite vocalists. He held his own nicely on harp there.

Man, that was great. I've not heard that before. It doesn't sound that complex but I bet that would be a bitch to replicate. His timing is superb.

Also glad you mention GB, great pulsing understated drumming groove.
