I just got a new special 20 in G.
Wowwwwwww it plays like butter and lots
of volume. They must be doing something
different now. My first choice is usually
a Golden Melody but I'm not disappointed
with this baby.

Nice one Diggs, isn't it great when one of these come along!! I have a terrific Bb Special 20, but I have to say all my Special 20's are pretty good. I bought a few of them in the less used keys as they were going cheap and I'm really pleased with them
I had to do some very minimal gapping to set them up the way I like them, but that seems to be commonplace for most harps anyway.
But every now and then you find one that is right on the money OOTB. Sweeeet!!

just dont try and change the comb to wood like me,unless you really know what you are doing sp 20s never,ever have leaked but changing the comb to wood created a leak

I have a Seydel Solist Pro in Ab thats an amazing harp for out of the box(to me its virtually as good playable wise as a custom). I'm not sure how its so good, i guess whoever gapped the harp at the factory really must of hit the sweet spot on this one.
I'm not looking forward to the day it dies.

My main Bb is a Sp20. I gapped it and it overblows very well. The overdraws need more work than on the Crossovers I've played, but that isn't a big deal to me.
I've *thought* about playing them more when doing solo/duo shows where I need chords as my main harps are all ET.

My first harps 2 years ago were some used SP20s from a coworker. I later got a GM and got rid of all my SP20s except for the G. I love it!

To a recent model SP20 in D I added a black dymonwwod Hetrick comb, rounded the corners, lightly gapped and embossed, re-assembled and HEY PRESTO....a mean lean fightin' machine!!!
