I'm going to be in Washington DC on August 4th to play in-studio for Bill Wax on Bluesville and--amazingly--to do a guest DJ spot. I'd love to supplement those (non-paying) daytime activities with a gig, of any variety, that evening. If you know somebody who might be looking for what I do--harp-powered one-man band--within range of that area, on that evening, please let me know: asgussow (at) aol (dot) com. I'm headed towards Gaffney, SC for a gig the following evening, so something in a southerly direction is best. Baltimore is good, though.

Two recommendations:
Lake side inn in Reston, va. It's a very small bar but they've had a few good bands through there. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for.
JV's restaurant- falls church, va- this is my favorite localish bar. My all time favorite band (the blue rhythm boys) play there. Tons of local talent play there.

These are both in northern Virginia and might get you more of a head start than Baltimore. Jv's would probably be more what you have in mind. But lake side is a stones throw from my house.

I've sent an email to Bret Littlehales and hope that works out. I'll check out those other two venues, 703. Thanks for that.

tolga: Brett has invited me to come on down and do my thing. We'll work out the details. One-man set somewhere during the August 4th jam at the Zoo Bar. Please spread the word. I'm playing for tips.
