I downloaded Paul Simon's new album "So Beautiful or So What" tonight. I noticed the 6th song, "Love is Eternal Sacred Light" credits "Sonny Terry" with the harp solo on that song. The solo starts at 1:48. It ain't much of a solo either. But is there someone running around today calling himself Sonny Terry? Or is this sampled from something Sonny did?

Greg there was a guy at HCH every one called Sonny Terry. He is from Houston Texas. Hey we missed you at HCH. My guitar player came with me and was looking forward to talking amps with you. Needles to say he was dissapointed, maybe next time. Mike

The blues harp player from Houston is Sonny Boy Terry. His first name is Terry and the legendary Houston blues cats tagged him with that moniker soon after he hit town many years ago and began proving his mettle with the blues harp. He's carried on the Texas Gulf Coast blues tradition with his bands since many of his mentors have passed on. It certainly isn't he on the Paul Simon recording. ---------- Ricky B www.bushdogblues.blogspot.com
