Hi,
I have just came back from 2nd International Harmonica Workshop on Sail Croatia 2011.
We had 7 big boat (about 16m long), 4 harmonica groups, 2 guitar groups and one boat for VIPs.

Our special teacher was Carlos del Junco - modern harmonica Master from Canada.
I strongly recommand you his music!
We had lessons, lecture (by Carlos), concerts and jam session of course :)

This is a polish teachers group with Carlos del Junco:

We had students from Germany and Holland also (one year ago we had great Russian team!).

Please check very fresh photos:

Carlos is one of my favorite players to listen to. His playing is very tasteful. Rumor has it that Carlos either does not or either cannot improvise, but that his guitar player writes all of his solos for him and he memorizes them. Does anyone know if this is 100% accurate? I find it hard to believe that a player as great as Carlos can't improvise at all...

Bart, you're also one of my favorite players, not only because you play such cool stuff, but because of your humble attitude and friendliness. Hope to see you again at SPAH this year.

I'm sure that hearing you and Carlos jam together would have been a real treat. Wish I could have been there!

Hi Todd, thank you for nice opinion. It's important for me, especially from so high skilled harmonica player like you!

I spoke with Carlos about music, practicing and many others. He is open minded musician. He likes a guitar/sax/trumpet solos. He is very scrupulous improvisator and I suppose that he write his solo for every tune. In my opinion it's good idea, but it's not my way.
He transcribes a lot of music also.
I know his records so on jam session I heard his new solos on his tunes, maybe not so logical and brillant, but great also. He can play good improvisations I'm sure.
Carlos has knowledge about harmony and scales, so he could make solos with guitarist or without him. Really hard to say.

I'm sure Carlos can improvise up there with the best of them. That guy sure knows his way around a harmonica:o)

del Junco has played with lots of guitar players over his 20+ year career yet he always sounds like Carlos.
