I just got a Boss RC-3 looper. In fact, I didn't get to the mail box until after 12am and just opened it a half hour ago. I had a few minutes to noodle, set up a loop, and a couple of minutes in decided to start recording it.

This was literally as sponatneous as possible. In fact, the recorder was just standing on the floor and tipped over a couple of times, so you might "hear" me move it around while playing.

All the sounds were made by me through the mic including the "drum" part. I apologize that it isn't a real song and that I had to configure the loop mix on the fly, but I thought there were enough cool effects in play to share it. I also felt that the RC-3 was so easy to use that within one minute of plugging it in I was setting up loops and creating music (I didn't even read the directions!)

I got mine for $180 brand new off of eBay two days ago (fast shipping!)...the only con being I am using a battery as I thought I had a Boss power supply in the house, but I don't.

As a huge bonus, I can actually record the loop to the pedal and upload it to my computer! Meaning in a totally improved session like this, I can save my work and edit it down to "ideas" I want to keep for future reference.

From this session I learned I will totally be using a sweep echo and particle verb for rhythm parts. It was also apparent that the octave effect needs to be louder to create a working bass part. All the effects are just regular patches on my default scene of the M13. I used a couple delays, rotary, phaser, growler, sweep echo, dynamic delay, octo, particle verb, a ring modulator...

At any rate, as I end my rambling post, I highly suggest checking out the Boss looper. The quantize, ability to mix the volume of your loop, LED indicator for where the loop starts, etc are just way too cool and easy to use.

The M13 looper is sweet, but the Boss is WAY more flexible and easy to use.
