I'm so excited about Hill Country Harmonica. Such incredible talent lined up for the weekend. Kudos again to the event directors.
After finding this video of Jason, I'm even more excited about his advanced class for using overbends in scales. I'm happy with my tone and technique on overbends, but this class will be awesome for learning to incorporate them in my playing more.
Like adam said....Jason doesn't just "do" overblows, they are a part of his playing just like any other note.
The licks he plays in this video just blow me away.
My offer still stands for anyone that wants to bring an old harp with a good 6 hole, If you can take it apart, I'll gap the reed for you and show you the OB technique that works for me.
I'll be the middle-aged guy with the harmonicas. lol...Look for a Blues Brothers t-shirt...if you sound the OB...one cold Bud Light please....lol
Saw Jason when he performed a few years ago at the Billtown Blues Festival near Williamsport, PA. He was crazy good. The man is breathing (literally) new life into the blues and the way people look at the harmonica.
"I'll be the middle-aged guy with the harmonicas" - may describe more than a few of us. If I add "bald and gray and still can't get enough of Ricci's harp playin' " - it still might describe more than a few of us.
