Well I finally got up the nerve to register for HCH next weekend. I'm going to Mississippi? WTF! Flying in from MA to Birmingham and driving to Waterford. I'm excited (and nervous)!

I never been to an event like this before so not quite sure what to expect. Two full days of blues harp, instructions, classes, lectures, shows. I can't quite wrap my head around it...

I'm a new player (about a year) and can't wait for the classes and instruction from the best. Especially can't wait to see Satan & Adam, Sugar Blue, and Charlie Sayles.

Anyway, looking forward to it and meeting other players from around the country. Should be a good experience.

I hear yah John, although I've played for many years this is the first of these sorts of things I've ever been to.

Just look for the chigger itchin camper with dark circles under his eyes staying up late for the jams with a big grin on his face, that'll be me.

bring a recording device with as much memory as you can muster. You will be overwhelmed but record as you can so later when you ask yourself "what the &%(%& was that?" you will have a record.

I'm stoked, too, John. My first time but I can't imagine it will be anything but awesome. Coldrail, I think there's gonna be a lot of us walking around with dark circles. Looking forward to meeting you all.

I guess my main concern is my skill level. Will I be out of place here/out of my league? I've never even played in front of anybody before. I've got a bunch of bluesy licks that I seem to repeat over and over and I think this is where I need some instruction. How to improvise on a 12-bar blues when jamming.

I'm such a newbie, I'm trying to figure out how to carry my harmonicas around with me all weekend. Shoe box?

So I'll be the skinny balding guy with glasses in the beginner classes!

We will all be there to learn brother! Don't worry about your skill level! We were all once at the beginning and we are all on the same journey, just taking different paths to get there! I'll be the guy with "The Glasses" you'll know what I mean! See ya there!

You will be well taken care of as a beginner. Not only are there break out sessions just for you, but you will be surrounded by guys who will show you just about anything you want. Just ask. You are gonna love it.

I'm stoked too and I've been a beginner for over 40 years and this is my first harp extravaganza.
