It is quick and aimless, but you get the idea:

Oooh yes!
There's a slight "tinkly" artefact riding over top, is that due to the wet effect?

I had my delay on. I thought I uploaded a clip that was with and without...appears I deleted those. I will upload a dry clip eventually...gotta run for a bit, but maybe tonight.
I just put my Zoom Q3 three feet from the speaker, so no fancy recording techniques. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas

I went back and gave a listen. I am not sure what the tinkly thing is. It might be what I had the Q3 on. I actually put a shadowbox on the floor and set it on the glass, lol. It could be that rattling. At any rate, it isn't the sound coming from the amp.

I was playing around today with a stock VHT. I found that it seems to be much better with a Shure 545SD than a bullet mic with Shure CM element. The 545 seems to bring out the best in this amp and really emphasises the bottom end. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try it out at a jam tonight and see how it fares with that mic.

@Kingley,
I've always had the opinion that the stick dynamic mics were better for smaller amps as they tend to have a wider frequency response.
I had hoped to spend a few minutes recording the amp without the tinkly sound this morning but ran out of time. I literally had 10mins where I was at home and able to record and upload yesterday. When the kids are around they are so into music that they have to come down and check out what I am doing. That makes it hard to have the full rig out, etc.
Playing acoustically around the house is no biggie, but even the VHT is loud. I have been using the low power setting to practice with a looper for 10-15 minutes a night...that is a nice luxury.
My main problem with these demo things is picking something to play, lol. It is much easier for me to share out a full band clip then riffing for something like this. I suppose the thing to do would be to actually play a song or something, lol.
I would like to eventually get another VHT with the same mods. I would run them in stereo and "retire" the HG50 in a lot of instances. My record of wanting a dream small amp is firmly established, ha! ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas

It sounds better live, lol. I had to convert from a WAV file so it wasn't 65MB for that short clip, but I can't say enough about how much that amp rocks. In full disclosure, I am using my full rig which includes the Kinder AFB and Samson Wireless. The Kinder wasn't really doing anything in this instance as feedback wasn't a problem. The wireless essentially makes the SM57 a bit hotter if you want it to. I didn't think there was enough of a difference to warrant digging out a cable, though.
I also have a BBE Opto Stomp, but it is true bypass and off. Even when I have it on, I doubt most would hear a difference. I only tend to use it when running a lot of effects or straight to the PA.
Eventually, I will record a loop and turn on/off different gear for a better A/B demo. It doesn't take long to do, but I feel guilty not working on harmonicas or practicing when I have a few free minutes. I did figure out a way to tape a demo with the UST the other day, though. I might actually do that tonight. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas
