I think it could qualify as a slow--very nice blues. This is my favorite tempo for blues--nice job! ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon
Thanks guys. Diggs, that's great stuff - really like the cool swooping lines you're playing there!
7LimitJI - really appreciate the feedback - thanks! I didn't get the Little Walter influence till later; I was 'borrowing' lines from Paul Oscher's version of Drifting Blues, especially that 'intentional slop' - Rick Estrin's phrase - and cool slur down on the 4 draw at the beginning. When I heard Little Walter's version later I realised Oscher got it from him. The more I listen to this stuff, the more I realise how much of it comes from Little Walter!
In all seriousness, I do love the gaps you leave, the phrases that stop just before you think they're going to resolve. The palpable sense of tension it leaves behind as the reverb dies away.
Now look what you've done Jodan; I've started talking all flowery FFS!
Thanks guys - yes, it's in Eb. I played the guitar in E and dropped it to Eb using Audacity. No real reason except it's the same key as the one Paul Oscher used and I just really like my Ab harp.
let me know if you ever do a backing track for Georgia off the Paul Oscher -Down in the Delta.
Its a great track for practicing the 3d bends. I usually play it over the actual track but its not the same as having a backing track:o)
Ab is probably my favorate key, but that might be because i have a magical Ab Solist pro that plays better ootb than a couple of customs ive got, i'll be gutted if it ever dies on me:o(
Paul Oscher rocks. That Down in the Delta Album is one of my favorate blues albums of all time. I bought his "Bet on the Blues album" the other day which is really good too, he does a great Juke cover and there is a great Little Walter story on there too:o)
@7LimitJI, I have been meaning to pick that album up but just havn't got round to it. Maybe this is the kick up the backside i need to go and get it:O)
I love Paul Oschers tone and Phrasing.I think i was lisening to Paul Oscher when the penny dropped and i realised i needed to learn how to TB properly.
