Not sure if you guys have seen this, but I thought it was funny enough to share. Say what you will about his politics, but this speech is really really funny.
You are right and I paid no attention to where it was. I am just tired of anything DC right now. Call it a grumpy old curmudgeon moment. In an ironic twist, I may be moving to DC soon if my wife has to move to a different employer.
I'm afraid to step into this thread, but I'm wondering if y'all are aware that there's PLENTY of proof that the birth certificate is a fake. Not only can the document be shown in several ways to be manufactured on a computer, but many data points are falsified, as well. Even if the certificate were legitimate, the status of his father's citizenship would render Obama ineligible to be president.
I'm outa here!
If you want more details, just go Googlin' for 'em. They're everywhere.
I'm aware that they say it, but as someone who does a lot of work in Photoshop I can tell you that there are imperfections in the typed words that is really hard to fake. What it looks like to me is that it was a crappy scan, and someone upped the sharpening in Photoshop to make it more legible.
Seriously gene? This is not the place for that type of lunatic nonsense/smear campaign. It's crazier than the swift boat nonsense.
Does the "birther movement"(what a joke) honestly believe that there was some giant conspiracy when Obama was born, where they were able to scam a local Hawaii newspaper into printing a birth announcement on the day Obama was born? Supposedly in the hopes of tricking the American public into electing Obama to the presidency illigitimately. And all the people who new the Obama family when he was born are in on the conspiracy and are a bunch of liars. If you disagree with his politics, fine, but don't buy into that ridiculous nonsense. Find some real issue to get all riled up over.
I really should just ignore this stuff, but it's getting really old, the president has a lot more important things to do than deal with this. There is absolutely nothing he could do to convince those people. Even if we could travel back in time to the date of his birth, there would still be people who would be unconvinced.
On July 28, 2009,Hawaii Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino issued a statement saying, "I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen." Is he a liar too? Or do you think his parents, or whoever, were some how able to sneak forged documentation into the Hawaii State Department of Health, all without anybody noticing? That would be pretty impressive.
EDIT: Also, the "status" of his father has nothing to do with it. Barack is a natural born citizen, and according to the Constitution that's all that's neccesary. Also telling us to google the information is kind of a joke. Why don't you goggle the moon landing and check out all the info "proving" it was faked. You should stop relying on right wing websites for your "factual" information. (that includes fox news)
Sorry for breaking the forum creed regarding politics

You know, I was looking through the creed (because I was certain I had broken it), and I couldn't find the part on politics... I'm going to check again.
I would like to add that my original intentions for posting this video were apolitical. I figured whatever beliefs one might have, they'd still find this video funny, regardless of their opinions of the President.
Shoulda known better than to post anything even closely resembling politics, and not expect a political discussion to ensue.
That's OK, Jon. We're enjoying the videos. I'm not going to argue. People can look at the evidence (BEFORE dismissing it) and believe what they want. I don't have a pony in the race. Whatever goes on in the world of government is not under the control of We the People.
Obama pretty much abused Trump. Gene, it's amazing to me that you can tell other people to look at the evidence. But I do completely agree with with you saying that people believe what they want to believe. I'll assume that includes Gene. Maybe you could lend the Donald a hand and find some of that evidence on google that the moon landing was a hoax.
He was a little harsh on the Donald, but what comes around goes around. This dinner is the one time of year these people can talk without having the 10 layers of plate steel in their pants to cover their ass. I think it is a needed relief for them. Now, if you think the pres was too rough on Donald, check out this video of Stephen Colbert from a few years ago at one of these dinners!
