Welllllllll

Some of you may remember me posting that we are now The "Homeless" Harmonica Club of Huntington, WV since the Java Joint closed its doors.

Last night we played at Gino's Pub for the first time. By the second hour, we were offered free beer for all the members of the club. Now, that's something to talk about.

Naturally, a few were already drinking beer. And, I will report that at least one of the ladies seemed to be playing better than ussual. hmmmmmmmmmmm

We are scheduled to play 3 other places before we decide where we want to call home. I wonder if the beer will be a factor?????????????

Jim-good to see you have options! As I have posted before, we split our meetings between two very accomodating bars, right down the road from each other. Every other meeting at one, then the other. both have blues jams after our meeting, which we have agreements with the owners and jam-leaders to always have a harp player up throughout the night, and we shuffle them in and out. It's a win/win for us and the bar(most of us drink a few beers or mixed drinks at least, and the tee-totalers buy soft drinks, plus one is also a restaurant, and most of us eat there as well during the meetings). So, as long as the majority of your club has no problems meeting in a bar, it looks like you've got an enviable position-bars competing for your meetings!

Though it is called a "Pub", everyone around here considers it a pizza place, not a bar. Especially since it has a video game room attached where kids have birthday party's. But, it is nice to have options, and beer may be an influence.

To Miles, No, not like Chicago. Gino's is a chain in southern WV, started here in Huntington in 1961. They just had their 50 year celebration. The owner of the chain was there and told the manager,"take care of those guys"

Hey Jim, I'm going to be moving down there in a few weeks, thus I will be able to come to the meetings.
I've spent the past decade up here in Parkersburg, in the heart of Yankeedom and beyond the border of Oshel Craigo's Ginos/Tudors biscuit/pizza empire. I sorely missed Ginos while in Parkersburg.

Also, I make beer.
