I love his Texas blues fiddle and guitar. His harp stuff is pretty darn good. What a talent he was.

youtube is the best invention since sliced bread!

Man, I'd forgotten about him. He used to tear up The Bluebird in Bloomington Indiana back in the early 80's. Ten cent beer if you had your Blues brew mug. What a flashback, thanks.

We opened for Gate in the early 90,s,a super, super nice man and one hell of a player. He sat at the front table when we opened the show with his cowboy hat and pipe. After a couple of tunes I started to get a whiff of something green,if you know what I mean. After the set he was very complimentary and I had mentioned to Paul the owner of the Stanhope House at that time and he said If its Gatemouth Brown,he can do whatever he wants.BTW,Thanks for that,I never knew that he played harp.

My friend and sometime bassist David Hyde played with Gatemouth for years.

Hey Nitecrawler, what was the name of your band? I may have been at that show.

Check out Gate's Salty Blues on Peacock for some tasty harp playing.
