I was listening to some Mar-Keys..... Great stuff, you should check them out.


I realized that I have heard Adam play the head to "Alright Okay You Win" somewhere. I'm not sure where but you will probably know if you go check out the song.

I think you're thinking of the video where Adam disects 'Rockhouse' by Ray Charles.



Alot of the Mar-Keys stuff is great for harp interpretation.

Another track that is ripe for a bit of musical theft is 'Cleo's Mood' by Junior Walker and the All Stars.

I used to do Cleo's Mood as a set opener for a number of different bands that I've worked with over the years. It's not difficult to play on harp at all and it's really fun playing it on a Low D harp with some reverb added to the mix like the way they recorded Junior Walker's sax on the original.

I love that song! It Kills. I get a visual of sitting in a dark, jazzy and smoke-filled club everytime I hear it.

I think I'm going to try that out. I'll have to buy a low D.
