Only 9 views on this video as I paste it here. This is interesting. In sequence: Hummel, James Montgomery, Jerry Portnoy, Rosy Rosenblatt, and Ricky "King" Russell. That's a lot of New England harp players. If the bus goes off the highway, you've got to start over with Magic Dick!
For my money, Rosy more than holds his own. These are highly stylized rituals, all the more so when it's this particular song on the line.
Congrats to Hummel for putting this much blues harmonica out there in the public eye and ear.
How can one argue who is the coolest without mentioning Kenny Neal or RW Grigsby.
RW is one of the baddest bass players out there and one of the coolest guys on the scene. He plays the stuff the old school way.
Kenny Neal is as good a harp player as anyone on that stage. He's got some serious tone and he learned his craft from some of the best. He's a bad ass harp player, guitar player, lap steel player, vocalist and song writer. He can play that Sonny Boy stuff like nobody's business.
The last guy to play is Josh Fulero~Mark's usual guitar player and arguably the best harp blower. Some guys are blessed with it all.

Josh Fulero was Curtis Salgados guitarist, and I think recently John Nemeths guitarist. Harmonica players make good guitarists for harmonica players. Charlie Baty comes to mind.
