I'm pulling my gear together for tomorrow night's gig and I need some ideas. I want to stack a wireless receiver on top of my amp but it needs to go on top of the handle but there's not enough clearance [to clear the handle of the amp]. Does anyone have suggestions for an easy way to elevate the wireless unit so it will clear? The unit is to long to sit on either side of the amp's handle.
Thanks in advance!
Jay

Maybe a shoebox or something turned upside down over the handle?

Duct tape, that's hardcore!

Definitely would score you some "dive cred"!

I used to use a rack mount delay unit that i just wanted to sit on top of my amp.
I went to a rubber goods shop and found 4 rubber chair leg caps(to stop the legs scratching the floor type thingies)and glued them to the bottom of the unit.they gave just enough clearance over the handle and being rubber had some natural 'grip' onto the amp.
Worked well and didn't look too heath robinson either .

2nd what jehosaphat recommends. Mouser also has a selection of stickon rubber or plastic feet of various sizes which work well for this type of application. If you're concerned about the possibility of the unit being knocked off the amp, put velcro on the bottoms of whatever feet you use and the top of the amp to hold the unit more securely.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The solution I'm using for tonight's gig needed to be something that I already had around the house. I found a piece of REALLY firm foam [gardener's knee pad] and cut it to fit the top of the amp with a long slot in the center to accomodate the handle of the amp. Now I can place whatever I want on top of the securely. I may go for the larger feet later. Thanks for all the support!

ya but just wait until you go to weed all the dandelions (you do weed your dandelions, right?) and now you gotta drag your amp out into the garden and you can't reach the ground anymore and you throw your back out. Tsk, tsk!

In the future:
Rubber feet that screw or bolt on if you can get to the bottom of the receiver from the inside. (You have to furnish your own screws.)

The foam pad with hole cut out for the handle worked great at the gig! Very solid and it doesn't look cheesy after the unit is sitting on top of it. Tonight I carved out the hole to make it a bit longer to fit another amp. I love it when a gear problem is solved with no out of pocket trauma...especially when I'm payin' $4 per gallon to get to the gig!!
