I ruined 2 of my Suzuki Harps yesterday a Harpmaster in A & a Bluesmaster in Bb. The Harpmaster just went flat and died but it had given long and faithful service. The Bluesmaster in Bb I killed it out of frustration! All my fault.
I was trying to do some recording. House was quiet. My wife was off shopping for the day. Took the phones off the hook. I was getting somewhat frustrated trying to record something I knew flawlessly ( until pressing record) , was on the 7th take, & within seconds of the finish, the doorbell sounded accompanied by loud knocking on the door. My recording was #@$%^&. I was so frustrated I threw the Bluesmaster at the wall. The wall is of exposed brickwork which was popular in houses of this vintage ca 30 years ago. The wall is fine but my poor old Bb is now really really really flat!
I was very naughty. Gave myself a lecture. Realised what an expensive exercise it had all become. My replacement harps, ordered today from David Payne of Elk River Harmonicas, are the all new Seydel Session Steels with Orange combs. I know, I love Suzuki, but I had been giving my 1847 some more work to do and am getting used to & really liking it. Also I have been using my Lee Oskars a bit & they are about the same size. The new Session Steels are supposed to use the same internals as the 1847 but are much cheaper at $59.95. They are dishwasher safe!!! But I won't try to bounce them off a brick wall.
Hey and guess what our Aussie dollar is now worth more than the US dollar so it's a good deal for us shopping on line from the US.

I get very frustrated when i try and record.
It's like you said, as soon as you hit the record button it goes wrong or you will get most of the way through the tune then towards the end #@$? it up.
I've never thrown my harps againtst a wall though, but most of my harps are 1847's and i just couldn't afford to throw them agaist a wall, maybe i should have a couple of Big Rivers as stress toys that i could bounce of things lol!! ----------
