Seems to me that it depends on how you define 'made' and who you believe. John Hall has said they are made in China. That conflicts with what Suzuki say.
According to the office of made up statistics, 99% of everything is now made in China.
They're pretty good harps.
Not that it really matters, but I'm with Sorin.

I believe the Delta Frost, other than the logo on the cover plates, is exactly the same as the Suzuki Harpmaster.
At the VA harmonica fest, a friend an I were comparing the two...I had the delta frost, he had the harpmaster.
If they are built in China, they are getting their parts from Suzuki.

The difference is in the reedplate... The Delta Frost is of higher quality, while the Suzuki one is made of Bronze...
I only tried the Harpmaster, it's a great harp but it become more expensive over the last years...

Hey Sausagescoffer, I heard more recent DFs have rivetted reeds and not the tell-tale spot welded ones. What's under the hood?

No rivets on this harp - welds only. Oh, and a small white sticker on the back that reads "Ass'y China".

I personally think that the DF is a Suzuki Bluesmaster comb and reedplates with differently etched Harpmaster covers. They all have brass reedplates, with the Bluesmaster and DF having phosphor bronze (instead of brass) reeds.

This question comes up every month or so. Brendan Power has written here that the phosphor bronze reeds are now available in the Bluesmaster and Harpmaster.
I've owned a multitude of Delta Frosts, but sold all of them. I tried to buy some new ones to replace some the harps that I blew out. Buying them directly from Bushman proved to be an exercise in futility. They were quick to charge the credit card, but never shipped the product.

Suzuki has simply been using the same contract manufacturer in China that Bushman uses (probably Shanghai General). Suzuki doesn't like to admit that these are made (mostly) in China, so I guess they put some finishing touches on in Japan and they can legally say they are made there (though they cheaper Folkmaster is labeled as made in China).

Rockin Ron has Delta Frosts in stock for $31.50 and Harpmasters for $29.50 free shipping on both. never tried the delta frost but i like the harpmasters. I REALLY like the bluesmasters much better if you dont mind the cover design, they cost about $30.00

Why does this thread keep reappearing? All harmonica reedplates with welded reeds are made in the Suzuki factory in Hamamatsu, Japan.

I actually liked the Harpmaster slightly better than the Bluesmaster; but I think the best deal out there is the Bluesmaster set.
At least that has been my best purchase; 6 harmonicas in a small case, and you can still find it for around $140 shipped, or about $23 each.

Curious - does the Bushman Delta Frost marketing or packaging materials -expressly- say Made in USA? (I don't know myself, as I never looked)
FWIW: FTC laws about Made in USA etc. ---------- Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy. -Dan Castellaneta
