I just picked up a Harp Attack yesterday and am enjoying it at once. I took it to an open jam last night and gave it a test ride. I am running it on my customized 5F1 and it really kicks a great amp up a notch. I like the tone control. It brings a tad of fullness to some of the upper keys and adds a bigger sound in general to the whole setup. I also use a Carbon Copy Delay to wetten my sound. This morning I used it with a small Kustom Tube 12 that I have in my garage and it does wonders for it also. I haven't tried it through a PA yet, but imagine I will be as pleased with the results as with the amps.

I've used one that htownfess brought to a jam and played through a pa... It was awesome.

That's what I'm saving up for!

Harp Attack plus Carbon copy is great setup to be plugged to almost any amp or PA (the best blues tones are big solid state amps)
I enjoyed it for at least a year.

Boris, I agree on the HA and Carbon Copy setup but don't necessarily think that big SS amps give the best blues sounds. I prefer 6V6 driven sound. However, each ear has its favorite candy.

Harpattack itself is already "6V6 driven sound". It needs good speaker and it's perfect. Another overdriven tube will increase gain, feedback and muddiness. Without HA I defenitely prefer tube amps.

I am not quite in agreement with you on that Boris. The 5F1 amp I am using has 2x6V6, and with the added HA (which is not 6V6) I hear no mud. The sound does become fatter though. With judicious use of the drive and line controls and a proper tuning of the tone control to fit the occasion (key of harp used),the HA only adds to the tube amps sound quality. I will agree that it makes a SS amp sound infinitely better, but never (to my ears) better than my tube amp + HA. But that's just me. ;)

I totally agree with MJ on using the HA with a ANY tube amp.

As official site stated
This pedal is not your typical tube preamp that uses a triode; this tube uses a subminiature beam power tube, the same type tube as a 6V6 to provide the tone of an overdriven single ended amp.

Actually, I played with harpattack to my Fender Pro Jr Russian clone, tone is great, but resistance to feedback (and overall volume) noticeably lower than amp pushed by MXR 6band EQ. For full band I use amp + eq setting, for quiet acoustic gigs I use HA to my tube amp, e.g. I'm playing some blues E harp - Fireball - Carbon Copy - Harp Attack - ProJr clone (jensen c10q speaker)

Nice video Zack, and Boris, you sound very good. It seems to me that the HA can be used in a variety of ways, no one way being the only way. I really am looking forward to using my HA in different situations and with different setups.

It's a good thing to have in your arsenal, and versatile. I don't play mine out enough.
