Is this stuff right?
This is so foreign to me, the only thing I can think to ask is:

???

So I'll just sit back and hope for some enlightenment.

Those second and third examples seem strange. I don't
think I've ever encountered a melody that I could say
was derived from traditional music that sounds like
It came from those scales. Though maybe someone may
argue the blues scale was derived from them.

That 7 note blues scale is "kinda" what I use. It's a reglar blues scale but you add the 2nd scale degree note, or what some call the 9th scale degree note.

My favorite example is a 6 draw when playing cross harp. That note is the 2nd scale degree, or 9th scale degree, depending on where you start counting.

I don't do anything like that 9 note blues scale...., Well, almost never. The closest I come, is sometime when going from a 2 draw full step bend to a regular 2draw, I'll throw in a 2 draw 1/2step. That's part of that 9 note blues scale.
