tonight I talked to 2 of my music friends on the phone. One is a grammy winner that is waiting on a hip replacement, hernia, and liver transplant. He is living on SSI and needs to have his stomach drained due to his liver not working. He loses 40 pounds with each draining. Because he is on SSI he is in a political mess that will probably end up with him dead vs. cured. The other guy has had his home forclosed and he is homeless. Both of these guys are big name musicians. It saddens me to no end to see such guys in this shape. Gary Primach came up in our conversations. Sadly he is better off dead. Life of the full time musician is this more times than not. I feel blessed that I went to college when the music card wanned. We play the lottery every week. If we win I will pay for these kind of guys to live out their lives in dignity.
