Look on Gumtree......even place a free ad there saying what you are looking for. I am sure there are regular jam nights for you to get in on.

@harmonicanick:

Dick Philpot's Nelson Open Mic is usually a fun Thursday night. Dick's a lovely bloke. The Nelson is a stone's throw from South Wimbledon station, which is about 15 mins from Stockwell.

Don't know of any jams in that part of the world on a Thursday.

It's well worth seeing what's happening at The Grosvenor, Stockwell. Great place. IIRC, Johnny Be hosts a friendly, genre-bending round table picking session first Friday of the month (if you're still in town).

EDIT: if you're willing to travel further afield, your could try my good friend Ben James' Open Mic at The Embassy, Islington or Tony TSR's Open Mic at The Duchess, Battersea.

Thursday you may be out of luck here - but I had a good time at this jam on a Monday night. The house was packed and enthusiastic about the music.
