I ran walterharp's $5 homemade tie clip mic into my empty paper roll that is attached to my harp rack into a fender princeton reverb. Recording everything at once makes for alot of bleeding into all the mics - snare, cymbal, vocal, guitar amp, overhead mic. Everything is within a few feet/inches of each other and the worst is the acoustic harp bleeding into the clean vocal mic and the vocals to bleed heavily into the tie clip mic which is heavily distorted. the tie clip mic and vocal mic are only inches from each other and my mouth only moves a few inches off the harp when singing. Finding the balance is a challenge that maintains the vocals and amplified harp tones. Walter

thanks guys! Yes I play the harp in a rack, sing, play the guitar, drums on my feet, and keys, all at once and make up all the words and music as I go along. I do about 99% of my rack harp acoustically, using a large diaphram condensor mic for both the harp and vocals(no meaning to life blues is more typical of my sound). It is an eq challenge there too because the voice likes the highs and the harp hates them. I do about 90% of my songs with the guitar instead of the keys. That is the Spontobeat 1 man band. I learned from one of the greatest 1 man bands- wilbert harrison (google him if you like) in the 70's and have been a full time 1 man band for about 10 years since giving up music full time and losing touch with the caliber of musicians I used to have in my band.
