Hobostubs: thanks! I dig that old guitar. Louisiana Red always wanted it and I am glad I held onto it. It is a cheapo from the 50's that was my first guitar that I could chord above the 2/3rd fret. I have had it for over 30 years now. Man does time fly. Here is a shot from belguim with Red playing it (same slide I used too) and me on harp. Walter

Walter that's great stuff! (As usual!) I particularly liked the slide and vocals on "The Highways". What make is the guitar? Are you in open tuning or standard? ----------

thats cool. YOu even got the same slide,I like slides my Dad gave me a pyrex glass slide he found in the garage,I had it a couple years befor I decided to try play around with it,then i made a slide from a cheap socket I used for awhile still have it,then the other day,I noticed I had the perfect bottle necks on 5 Brandy bottles I had keeped to store Moonshine in that i used to make,So i looked up how to make a slide on the net, some rope a hack saw or glass cutter and some gasoline and water,I busted 1 but made 4 nice slides 2 stubies perfect for cbg,I full size slide, which has a lower darker feel to it than my pyrex slide not better but different, and a in between size, snapping bottle necks can be tricky and getting the right size can be to,I learned;-)They have these killer looking slides on the net called a mojo bone slide there high dollar, around $50 I cant afford one but they look cool,I like the different tones you can get with different slides,Do you use any particalor type? ---------- Hobostubs

AV8R: Thanks! I have had that guitar in a ton of shops and had countless musicians look at it. Nobody knows for sure what brand it is. I used open E on those songs. Here is a better picture of it. I figure someday someone will identify it.
Hobostubs: That is cool you are making your own slides. I am not that skilled a craftsman. I use a big brass one with that guitar and my acoustic and a steel guitar slide with my black cat mojo guitar. I bought the brass one in a Ca music store in the late 70's. I gave it to Red to use and about 15 years later he returned it! Walter

here is the black cat mojo guitar. I has the action up way high like a square neck national/lap steel. It is a one of a kind handmade that the late owner of the black cat lounge gave me when we left austin.
