I deleted the video that I posted yesterday of Jason and myself playing at a Jam Session here in New Orleans, because it was all distorted. Here it is again, but I need some help from you guy. First the Video:
I have a Zoom Q3HD that I received for Christmas, and the literature said it recorded in MPEG 4. That is the reason that I asked for it instead of the regular Q3. Well, it doesn't. It records in .Mov, just like the regular Q3. I called the company and asked how to record in MPEG 4, and they said that it uses the MPEG4 fdormat, but records in .MOV. Personally, I feel this is misleading advertising. Anyway, the .MOV files are huge. It took me almost 9 hours to post this video in .MOV. The other video that I posted I converted to MPEG, and it was all distorted, and the audio was not in snyc with the Video. So, can someone tell me how to convert the .MOV files to smaller one without the distortion?
I very recommend to buy or download some audio soft to edit audio-track, sound can be much better if you reduce frequencies around 300Hz I suppose, as this is room resonance, which gives muddy feel to sound, while all instruments are can be heard clearly. ---------- Excuse my bad English. Click on my photo or my username for my music.
I used "Free Video to flash converter". It helped me convert a 1.5 gigabytes to a lot more comfortable 69Mb file. Of course it lost a bit of quaty in sound and image but for uploading purposes it was way more convenient.
Google it, it's completely "free" as the name says it and you can pick different options for converting.
No sync problems until now,
here is the converted video, it was a huge .mov file turnet to a flv file (the one taht youtube uses), so youtube uploading process it's even faster.
---------- With some latin flavour for you, chico!! :P
the q3hd does indeed record in hd, if you want it to. no misleading advertising, just misunderstanding. if you record at 1080p, the files will be huge. i usually record at 720p, and they're manageable. you might also check what audio format it's recording. if you're recording uncompressed wav, that'll eat up a lot of space as well.
i've been very happy with my q3hd, which i also got for christmas. it does take a little tinkering around with, and it helps to have good video editing software. i use openshot, fwiw, but i'm on linux, so that may not help the rest of you much.
here's a sample from a recent gig, uploaded as a 720p, 30 fps flv file:
