Say, I just finished doing the mods on my Valve Jr. head unit. I know we were having conversation about this but I can't remember the thread topic. I did the most simple version that Randy at Lone Wolf had on his site. I'm waiting for Deedie to get home so we can go to the 12 hours of Sebring race that is going on now. We're 20 minutes away and have good tickets. I digress but my point is it took about an hour and holy smokes what a difference. Dare I say it's so easy a caveman can do it. Now I completely understand why guitar amps need to be voiced for harp. What a difference. If you're not handy with a soldering iron then just send yours to him. You'll be glad you did.
Now I want to see if there is anything out there for modding the Champ 600 for harps. I just picked one up at the pawn shop and I like the little thing. Can't describe what I like but I do like it. When coupled along with the Epi stack it is marvelous.
Thank you Randy for making it easy!

Another believer. Huge difference indeed! Have you changed the speaker? That's the only thing I left intact;I don't hate the stock Eminence. I am contemplating a Weber Sig and dustcap, though. If I recall correctly, Randy will do the mods for 75$. Drop Randy a line(or email me for his phone number)-I bet he's got some ideas for that little Fender. ---------- Todd

I'm here now switching back and forth between a JJ ECC81/12AT7 and an RCA 12AX7. AHHH! Have you tried the lower gain? I'm using the SM57 to stay consistent and leaving the Bullet out of the mix for now.I have the stock speaker which I plan on switching out to a 60's Rola as soon as I buy an old organ at one of the local auctions for $5 to rape.

Can anyone compare an Epi Valve jr./Landry mod with the VHT Special 6?

@LIP RIPPER: The "Alnicomagnet" store on Ebay sells mod kits for the Champ 600.
