Does anyone have any experience with these tunings? I saw them on the scale-finder at overblow.com and was wondering if they were useful. It appears to me that the blues scale tuning is designed for first position and no bending needed, maybe? Minor and major pentatonic tunings both appear to be best for third position as I see it. But I could be completely wrong.

I'm not sure why you would want this type of tuning. I think if you know the standard tuned harp well enough that you can intuitively see the possibilities with an alternate tuning, then do what your heart desires.

You might increase your novelty harp collection, but I don't think you would advance yourself musically.

I'm not a great musician. I've always liked the power of the pentatonic scale on guitar, I can play leads and (usually) not worry a whole lot about the changes until the turnaround. It would be nice to have that on the harp. The blues scale is hard for a lot of harp players. You practice your bends and then time to perform, the bends weren't as good as you hoped. It would probably lose a lot to have the blues scale as first position and no bends, but I'd still like to hear it, or hear about someone's experience with it. I don't tune harps, so these tunings would cost me $60 each from Seydel plus shipping. So that's why it would be great to hear about anyone's experiences with them.
