Is there anyone in the UK on here who is customising their harps? I'm looking for a few parts.
I need hex bolts and taps for threading reed plates on MB's and (old nailed) GM's. Where's the best place to look?
Alternatively, if there are any US guys out there who can help, please advise and I'll place an order with you.
Cheers
Steve

GM's use M1.6 screws. I'd suggest trying those for both those harps. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas Updated 3/14/11

Watch this video and he explains which size of screws, drills and taps you'll need.
I got them from E-Bay and/or Model shops online.
Its a poor quality video, but he gets the message across. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAd5-b_5A40

Hey Mike and 7Limit.
Perfect Mike. Thanks.
7Limiit: I was thinking I'd need a drill press for the threads, but this vid just saved me some money.
Thank you both.

Since making that video I have changed the screw size for fixing reeds from 10ba to 12ba (12ba is smaller than 10ba). The reason being that the 10's were a bit obtrusive when fixing blow reeds so I now use 12ba brass roundhead. This also has an added advantage in so much that the rivet hole in the reed plate is just the right size for a a 12ba tap (available on Ebay for about £3). I buy screws from Modern Screws of Bexley, Kent via the internet, and they appear to have the best prices. Hope this is of help.

Hi Wheezer,
Thanks for making that and thanks for the update.
I've gotta say, it was refreshing to hear some 'English' English on a harp video for a change.
