This European boy and his girlfriend have just booked two tickets to Memphis for 18 July. I'm planning to travel to new Orleans, following route 61 in three weeks.. Any tips on picking up a cheap rental car, accomodation, dos and don'ts on the road and opportunities to sit in on harmonica will be highly appreciated.
Thank you, Ruurd van der Vegt

Hi Ruurd. I'm in New Orleans. First off, there are jams galore here, sometimes multiple ones on the same night. As your trip gets closer, either I or Harvey Berman(HarveyHarp on here)can give you exact days/times/locations, as they do change from time to time. As for accomodations, I'm not a big help, but do check with Bed and Breakfast places as well as hotels. If you are renting a car, there are some short drives to suburbs and hotels there that might be cheaper, but it really depends. Oh, and in July, it is REALLY hot here, so prepare to dress accordingly. There are so many must-sees here, musically and otherwise, and depending on your actual stay you can pick and choose them. I will be glad to make suggestions. If you pick on my profile, you'll find my contact info. ---------- Todd
