Guys I wanted to share with a you a video review I made of the pocket pod for harmonica Players. It's in spanish but about the 2:00 mark you can hear some samples of differents pressets I use.
I got it connected to a Thoner and Vandher speakers of 50 watts RMS. They costed me about 100 dollars but in USA or Europe you can get some better speakers with that money I'm shure.
Thats the setup I use for rehearsing with my band, and in the future for gigging. I will need to Mic the speakers in order to get there.
Mic is a Turner 500, mid impedance Microphone.
I think this will be usefull for Boris as I know he was looking for a Pod X3 (wich has better quality audio I guess).
Hope it helps for anyone thinking about buying one of this units.
Any question, just ask.

this is interesting for me...i tried this but found the volume/level changes between effects jumps so much you can get a massive swell...a nightmare on stage.
Guitar effects give a lot of hum through mics. I have a roland street amp with a mic setting, and a preamp/mixer should help, but i really need advice of a mic and sound expert to know why this is.
CamiloHarper Thank you for video? I like the tone, I think I could make a decent patches for me, I'd experiment more with cabs, they're a bit dull for my taste. Do you overcome feedback issues? Are you comfortable while rehearsal? Do you use internal noise gate? Can you add a bit more highs? ---------- Excuse my bad English. Click on my photo or my username for my music.
Boris: I never saw your comment. Yes, I solved the feedback problem using a DI box to lower the impedance. Yhe ampt out of the pod is a HI-Z outpout, so if you conenct to a DI Box, voila! No more feedback problems. So i go Mic-Pocket Pod---Di Box---Mixer
You can change the cabinets but only connecting the pocket pod to the computers and using the VYSEX software. I changed my actual settings after the video. My actual sound is something like this
It has less reverb, and seems friendlier to my ears..
For rehearsals the pod is great. very portable. I take all my gear in a backpack!! harps, mics, pocket pod, di box, wires!! It's really comfortable.
Yes you can improve highs if you like, you have three main setting to equalize.... bass, middle and highs.
Johsnat. Thanks!!
My current amplified patch is--- Styles----Heavy---Deep Disturb!
You can tweak the settings until you like them. Remember, the microphone you are using changes the sound a lot! So you have to experiment.
The other patch I use is Vocal---- Tube preamp.
(The other patchs are modifications of these two, perhaps changing the amp model, but hose two are the main ones)
If you can, the best you can do is to conenct the pod to the PC and there with vysex software modify the sound more easily until you find something you like.
Remember to set a low Drive level. If not, the sound will sound to harsh to your ears. I keep my setting mid level (bass, treeble, and Mid).
If there is something else you want to know, please ask!

so you're using some of the stock patches, but you're tweaking them? That's a nice approach. I erased all the stock patches and started with my own amp/cab/fx combinations based on what I would want to play through if the real amps were available. I think I'll go back to some of the factory patches and see how they sound.
