Hobostubs,

I really liked the effects on the vocals. Very swampy and reminded me of Rob Zombie - in a good way (not that I think there is a bad way - I wanted you to know it was a compliment).

I think the harp did not need the effects though. I think a more up front approach with some in your face acoustic harp would have been better.

Then again, opinions are like... well let's just say it's only my opinion.

Nice work. I enjoyed it.

'Im in a slump again on harp;-)I tried 3 -4 takes on the harp,At 1st couple sounded lke noodling way to much,So i thought well you been working on chorus forms some with my lessons, I couldnt come up with any, that I was happy with,So I pulled the harp, tried Bass guitar, more percussion, ect nothing seemed to work,so i striped it down to just the guitar and vocals and my jaw harp taped on a jar thingy I made ,thought well I would like some harp In it,If Nothing else just play something that kind of stays in it but doesnt get in the way,I guess im trying to say.Im still puzzeled by it.Your probelly right on the harp. But im at loss to firgure out what.

Hobostubs,

If you just want to add some ornamentation, just lay into a 4-5 draw warble at the appropriate times. I heard it in there, it was just weak with the effects and far back in the mix. I think you could bring it way forward with no effects. get aggressive with it, lay back on it. There are people out there gigging who do little more than that....

Cool stuff, hobo. I agree with KingoBad - some 4-5 warbles in the right place would sound cool.

Love the visual art-photography stuff. I've spent a lot of time hunting, working, and even living in swamps.I like the backwoods feel of your music and you just keep gettin better and better. I like the draw warble suggestions and I think some simple draw chords too. I think I am hearing some pretty good harp sounds here but they are just not loud enough. Then again,I've ran a chain saw for 30 yrs....maybe I'm going deaf.

thanks guys,
I know it aint good to blame equipment on playing problems, but here lately I think im getting tired of the Lee Oskar, tone Im gettting, for some of my cigar box stuff ,I had a couple of Hering 1923's gave to me,And there Just tuned not Equal like LO are and im likeing them for the cigarbox music, except, there more money than what i want to pay for em,and there a little hard to bend, but they seem to be holding up well, except Im needing to get a couple of better suited keys for the CBG,The LO are great for a certain sound but Im wanting something that I can use on a rack and just huff a few chords, but also work well with a melody,Im really digging the Raspiness of the Susuki Blues masters from what ive heard on peoples recordings,They say they are tuff harps but also bend easy,I havent tried 1 yet,are they nice harps? Im fixing to get me a new harp and thinking of trying the Bluesmasters.

I like this sorta earthy 'drone' blues..you got a good vocal and guitar slide thing going here..but you need to bump the harp up in the mix, at the right times and also I couldn't understand the vocals though that could just be a cultural thing.
All in all though you do sound very authentic, like maybe you've lived it..?
Anyways real nice .Look forward to hearing some more
