I recieved a Pro Jr.( built in 98') in the mail that had been in storage for about four years in northern california(generally a very wet/humid environment in the winter months). I fired it up and it works, but I'm getting some strange ghost notes every once in a while.
I used to own this amp and it did not have that issue when it was originally in my possesion. When I owned it, I beat the tar out of it though. I generally played guitar through it more than harp.
It has the original stock speaker in it and it always worked in the past. So at this point I'm thinking capacitors? Is there any way to test them, or should I just bite the bullet and have them replaced?
Please forgive my ineptitude on such matters in advance.
Had the same issue with a early 60's Electro amp when I first got it. Replaced the blue label Jensen with a Weber AlNico Signature 8 inch. That cured it big time!

In the past I used it with no issue. I'm not sure what type of speaker it is, but I think it's a ribbed alnico. That's why I'm kind of leaning towards the caps going bad. When I got the amp it had a little rust on the chassis from storage in a humid environment.
Whilst it's not good for filter caps to leave amps without being played for a long time, first ports of call would be to sub speaker & tubes for known good items, reasonably biased with respect to the power tubes.
