Hi All,

My 55th birthday was a couple of weeks ago. My wife asked what I wanted for my BD and I said "How about a Blows Me Away Custom Wood Bullet?". She shocked me and said "Sounds Great! Pick your wood and get it ordered." WHAT, you gotta be kidding me! She didn't have to say that twice. So, we sat down together and picked out the wood, Maple Burl. After a couple of e-mails back and forth with Gregg Heumann, I sent in the deposit and started salivating.

A week or so after my order, I received a bunch of pics from Greg showing me the mic being made from the ground up. A couple weeks later, another group of pics showing the aluminium face plate being machined and the nice dark vintage Shure element being installed. A few more days went by while Greg waited for the lacquer to cure and my new mic was on it's way.

I got it this past Friday and didn't have much time to try it out. I got maybe 5 minutes through my HarpGear 35. Today however, I took it to my local jam and played it through my Kinder AFB+ > Harp Attack > Harp Delay. I couldn't believe it! The tone change from my standard bullet was amazing! I have never sounded this good. When I got off stage, several people commented on how great my tone was and how great I sounded.

First, HUGE thanks to my wife for the outstanding BD gift. Second, HUGE thanks to Greg at Blows Me Away for sending me an outstanding mic.

I have no financial connection to Greg other than the fact that I paid him for a work of art that sounds fantastic!

Here's a pic

Great Mic Dan.
Tell me about your forum name. Do you normally attend the festival?

My forum name was basically given to me by my son. I'd like to say it was totally blues driven, but alas, not so.

A few years back, my son was stationed in Japan. He got me into playing Call of Duty on the internet and we spent a lot of time playing war games together, albeit halfway around the world from each other. He gave me the name KingBiscuit for the game and I've been using it for on-line forums and the like since.

As for the festival, I'm assuming you mean Hill Country. I have not been to Hill Country but will be attending this spring.

KingBiscuit, Not Adams Hill Country. The "King Biscuit" Blues Festival is every fall in Helena Arkansas. It is also home of the the "King Bisuit" Radio Show that Sonny Boy II was a part of for years.

@Hondo,

Sorry, I forgot about the King Biscuit festival...I've got Hill Country on my mind. Have not gone to that one yet. Will try to make it some time. Too many things to see and do, too little time and money!
