This is just a quick sample of my Masco mu-5, Multivox Combo bass, and my Masco 18P with a 15" CTS speaker played through a Shure CR and recorded straight with my Iphone.
They actually sound very simular in the recordings.

Do the recordings fairly represent the amps' sound? I don't think of an iphone as a high fidelity recording device.

Joe,
I see what you are saying...recording really dont do any amp justice unless using high fidelity equipment.

I actually thought that the Masco MU5 sample Adam posted sounded thin...I am convinced it is as fat as the one I got.

The lows and mids are much better live and the tone is fatter all around but the Crunch and breakup gives a good idea of the general characteristics.

I recorded the first amp again Masco Mu-5 with a SM58 into Audacity below. Hear the difference?
Amp on 6 Tone on 2 with a Shure CM.
