*Great bunch of folks here. I read every word of it so I guess it’s only fair that I add something-->

I take on small construction contacts once in a while. I retired from a 31 year career in the U.S. Forest Service. I started my career fighting forest fires, then worked at the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, and finished the bulk of my career in the law and investigation branch.

I did some government work designing and constructing electronic surveillance devices. That work carried over into my retirement. I made custom boards and circuits for all kinds of things like experimental cars, digital camera controls, and even “stomp boxes”. At the time I had no personal interest in stomp boxes. Little did I know I’d be making effects circuits for myself years later.

My wife retired last year so now we goof off a lot. We spend most of that time on road trips which revolve around exploring, camping, hiking, the beach, bikes, kayaks and fishing. I collect and restore vintage fishing gear including bamboo fly rods… Weird, I guess that's my "Day Job" now.

It's about time I got around to this.

Special Education Teacher at a Middle School. Love my job. Husband and father of 2 young boys, 10 months and 7 years- I don't get paid for that, but the teaching can be easier sometimes LOL. My wife put it well, in some silly social media survey she filled out about me: What makes him happy? The Blues. What makes him sad? The Blues. The blues is the perfect mirror into the human condition. I am privileged to play them- even as a hobbyist/weekend warrior ;)

Cool Chaz. Do you have any "Educational Assistants", or "Special Ed Aides", or whatever you call them that work for you? That's what I do!

@Minor Blues - Oil Fire Detonator? That sounds incredibly cool. You must explain! :)

I am the Director of a Civic Center in Southeast Texas, which is also a Department Head position at the City I work. Prior to this I was the Dir of Sales and Events for a entertainment venue in Southeast Texas. Also spent many years in the Convention & Visitors Bureau field. I miss it a lot. It was fun going to all the conventions, and trying to get them to come to your city.

I always am wondering, how many Texans are out there?

I ‘ve been a house painter since 1978 -small time paint contractor since 1989-still doing it
I’ve been in duos , trios, bands but 85% solo w/ a rack since 1980 -still doing all 3.

Painting is my primary day job—I’ve been broke b4---so any work is, good work to me

I'm retired from the NYS Dept. Of Labor where I was Senior Safety and Health inspector. For 23 years I inspected things like carnival rides, ski lifts , explosive magazines, etc.

Right now I do volunteer work at the VA in Buffalo, NY (I'm an old Navy vet, so that's where I want to help out).

Air Traffic Controller since 2013 - going until I am 56 is the plan (in my 20s now).

I am also getting paid to go to College, so I am just knocking out general classes because I have no idea what degree I want to achieve.

Hi all,

I'm working as an harmonica customizer, and a bunch of other stuff. Tuning and rebuilding accordions, Sharpening knives, CNC Laser work, special restorations of wood furnitures, auto electronics etc.
Always fun to have a good variation of work =)

I have been working as an attorney for 17 years in the Houston/Beaumont, TX area.

I try my hand at spiritual advising for my "self" (or non-self), but that guy is paying me in no-thing.

Texan here. Beaumont specifically.
If you are in Beaumont, there is a blues jam on the second Thursday of every month at Logon cafe. I don't remember a time when there were more than two harp players at any one time hitting that jam, so you would definitely have play time, if interested.

Jolene and I have been planning this for several years. Last year we sold the house and bought a nice travel trailer which we've lived in for about 6 months now. Once I'm done doing the day trip in town here I will devote more time to promotion and planning travels. We will work the duo angle mostly but who knows, may meet some rhythm guys here and there and do some work that way as well.
We're putting together a music and travel blog at facebook named Adios Infinity.

Over 40+ years I have done many things to get a loaf of bread on the table. Janitor, dishwasher, order processing/packing, small machine rebuild, assembly work, fabrication, warehouse/delivery, sales, handyman, grounds maintenance, etc.

At this point we decided we need to get on the road, do music, see the sights, and meet the people. We have a cd ready to get recorded and may do that on the road someplace depending on a few factors. But since we have 2 already out we do have something to market as we gig our way around the country. Itinerary is still shaping up. I will post more as things become more solid. I'd dig meeting some of you along the way
